Holy Family HTX - Episcopal Church
This may be my most exciting project to date. It all began when Fr. Jacob Breeze of Holy Family HTX reached out to me, telling me that his parish had purchased a meat-packing plant and were renovating it to be a church. This became my main work for over a year.
Design
This project began with a video becall between me and Fr. Jacob Breeze. He was able to provide some inspiration images, as well as discuss the overall feel he wanted for the space. From there, I was able to generate a series of drawings with multiple options for him and his team to pick from.
Prototyping
The pews were the main element and it needed to be prototyped before going into production. Fr. Jacob made the 2.5 hr drive from Houston to Austin to approve the prototype himself.
Production
In the end, this project included 64 pews, an art gallery bench, a tabernacle, two credence tables, an entrance table, and a processional cross.
Dedication Service
Upon completion I was invited to attend a dedication service, where their Bishop came to bless the Church. I was honored to be included, by name, in both their liturgy and printed programs.
